About this app

Tetsy is an AI text to speech app for Android: a TTS reader, TTS maker, voice reader app and system TTS engine in one. Paste or import text, pick a natural voice and listen, then export the audio as a WAV, MP3 or AAC file you can save or share.

Choose natural AI speech from seven cloud TTS and speech synthesis services — OpenAI TTS, ElevenLabs TTS, Microsoft Azure TTS, Google TTS, Amazon Polly TTS, IBM Watson TTS and Speechify TTS — or use the voices already on your phone. Sign in to unlock the cloud voices, audio export, .txt import and the "Read Aloud (Tetsy)" and Share actions; listening in the app with the on-device voices works without an account. Export covers texts up to 4,000 characters, and Premium exports longer ones.

Read aloud from other apps:

- Select text in an app that offers it and tap "Read Aloud (Tetsy)" to hear it at once in your chosen voice, or send text to Tetsy from the Share menu
- Set Tetsy as your preferred Android speech engine, so compatible apps that use the system voice read with the TTS service you picked
- Tetsy can detect the language of selected or shared text and use the TTS voice you set for that language

Key features:

- AI text to speech and voice synthesis with natural neural TTS voices on the cloud services: OpenAI voice models (GPT-4o mini TTS, TTS-1, TTS-1 HD), ElevenLabs, Microsoft TTS, Google TTS, Amazon Polly, IBM Watson and Speechify
- TTS reader, AI voice reader and text reader for anything you paste or import from a .txt file
- TTS maker and TTS voice generator: turn a script into AI speech for an AI voiceover or AI narration
- TTS router and multi TTS: pick a provider and voice for each language, such as an OpenAI voice for English — Tetsy remembers it, and you can switch in a tap
- Multilingual TTS in many languages; not every provider speaks every language, so Tetsy shows the TTS voices that do
- Voice synthesis controls: speed, pitch and speaking style depending on the provider, plus in-app playback speed and pitch sliders
- Text replacements to fix tricky words and names before they are spoken
- On-device TTS engine voices: listen in the app with the voices already on your phone, no account or tokens needed
- With Premium, a speech generator for long texts: they are split at sentence boundaries and joined into one audio file, handy for long reads and chapters

Audio export:

- TTS MP3 export with Amazon Polly, Microsoft TTS and IBM Watson voices
- WAV export with OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Google and on-device voices, AAC with Speechify
- Convert text to audio, text to voice or text to speech MP3 files, then save or share them from Android's Share menu

Your own TTS API key or Tetsy tokens:

- Bring your own TTS API key for OpenAI TTS, ElevenLabs TTS, Azure TTS, Google TTS, Amazon Polly, Watson TTS or Speechify TTS: it is stored on your phone and sent only to that provider
- Or use Tetsy tokens, where the cost per character depends on the provider and model

Use cases:

- AI voiceover, AI speech and AI narration for videos, e-learning and YouTube in a natural voice
- A TTS voice generator and speech generator for scripts and podcasts, with TTS MP3 or WAV files to keep
- A TTS reader, voice reader app and AI voice reader for articles, study notes and long reads you paste in
- A one-tap text reader for passages you select in apps that show "Read Aloud (Tetsy)"
- Text to voice for proofreading your own writing, and speech synthesis to convert text to audio in another language with multilingual TTS

Whether you need a TTS maker for a script, a text reader for your notes or a system TTS engine, TTS service and TTS router for Android, Tetsy puts every TTS voice you use behind one multi TTS app.

Sensibly positioned useful proxy for TTS APIs. Works as expected. I call it sensible. because it gives you the options to fallback to other/local tts programs as well as cache the generated audio. I do that and it serves me well for learning foreign languages.

Amazing app and it's concept and has scope of improvement by Perhaps the file type support .pdf and .epub will be more useful since it's more used on phones then .txt is. Thank you for caring on further development of the app.

This is awesome! It took me some time to figure out how to set it up with my OpenAI account, but once I did it it works flawlessly! You are genius.
