About this app

Google Meet is a high-quality video calling app designed to help you have meaningful and fun interactions with your friends, family, colleagues, and classmates, wherever they are.

Meet lets you connect in whatever way works for you: Call someone spontaneously, schedule time together, or send a video message that they can watch and respond to later.

Meet also helps you get things done. It integrates with other Google Workspace apps like Gmail, Docs, Slides, and Calendar, and offers a number of features to help you run smooth and engaging meetings, like noise cancellation, in-call chat, recordings, and more.*

Features to look forward to:

Make spontaneous calls or host video meetings with your friends and colleagues, all in one app.

Enjoy one-on-one video calls for up to 24 hours and host meetings for up to 60 minutes and 100 people at no cost.

Follow along in your preferred language with real-time translated captions in over 70 languages.

Use in-call chat to share ideas, ask questions, or provide feedback without interrupting the flow of the conversation.

Make your calls more engaging with in-call emojis that allow you to express yourself seamlessly without interrupting the conversation.

Share visuals like photos, videos, and presentations during your call to collaborate or simply share memories from your recent vacation.

Make your calls with family and friends more fun with stackable effects that allow participants to add multiple backgrounds, filters, and animations, to create a personalised experience.

Use on-the-go mode for an audio-only experience with larger call controls, making it easier to take calls with fewer distractions while walking, driving, or using public transportation.

Access on any device: Meet works across mobile, tablet, web, and smart devices,** so everyone can join.

High quality video: Show up looking your best with up to 4k video quality video***.

The app sucks half the time. I can't even call someone. it just rings and disconnects right away. I've checked to make sure we both have updates on both sides. I have an Android. the person I'm calling has an iPhone and then basically our microphone and video is accessible every now and then it's temperamental and I can't call the person via video. it just disconnects the call rings once and that's it

Hi Jennifer. Please check your cellular or Wi-Fi connection. The Wi-Fi or mobile data icon should have at least 1 bar. If you experience bad connectivity, please move to a location with better connection. If you still have issues, submit feedback by tapping the three dot menu in the top right corner - Help & Feedback - Send Feedback. Thanks!

You cannot block or report spam calls. you need to accept the call to report the spam email. Google help suggests that you don't accept calls from emails or numbers that you don't recognize. Broken cyclical error and help doc. Fix the app, not the documentation. Good luck getting a business or meeting call from anyone who is not a full saved contact in your contacts list.

Hi Joel. If you no longer want to receive calls or messages from someone, you can block them. To learn more, please refer to this link: https://goo.gle/4l1TMwJ. As always, you can also ask a question in our Meet Community Forum too! https://goo.gle/35eTQ6y. Hope this helps.

Most of the time the call quality is good (clear picture and audio) but there are times where the voices on both sides are distorted or jumbled. Most recently, my calls have been dropped or ended at or around the hour to hour and a half mark. I remember a time where I could let the call go for hours and it wouldn't end unless someone's phone died or we ended it. I miss that feature! I've looked everywhere in the settings and haven't found a fix.

Hi LaCasse. We're sorry to hear that. Have a look at this guide to troubleshoot (see "Fix video or sound issues on a call" section): https://goo.gle/3mKDOyh. If you are still experiencing issues, Please submit feedback inside the Meet app: Meet> Menu (Top left)> Send feedback. Thank you.
