About this audiobook

A brutally honest rock memoir, The Heroin Diaries chronicles Mötley CrĂŒe bassist Nikki Sixx’s descent into heroin addiction and his harrowing fight for recovery at the height of fame.

When Mötley CrĂŒe was at the height of its fame, there wasn’t any drug Nikki Sixx wouldn’t do. He spent days—sometimes alone, sometimes with other addicts, friends, and lovers—in a coke- and heroin-fueled daze.

The highs were high, and Nikki’s journal entries reveal some euphoria and joy. But the lows were lower, often ending with Nikki in his closet, surrounded by drug paraphernalia and wrapped in paranoid delusions.

Here, Nikki shares the diary entries—some poetic, some scatterbrained, some bizarre—of those dark times. Joining him are Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Slash, Rick Nielsen, Bob Rock, and a host of ex-managers, ex-lovers, and more.

Brutally honest, utterly riveting, and surprisingly moving, The Heroin Diaries follows Nikki during the year he plunged to rock bottom—and his courageous decision to pick himself up and start living again.

I thought it was a great book. He's telling you his personal story about addiction and what he went through and how it took over his life. He opened up his life that he probably didn't want many people to know about him. He told the truth about how addiction takes over your life. Even though he was lucky to be alive, nothing could make him quit until he was ready to. He was a rock star, and he acted like one. The best part about the audio book, to me, was that he read it to you. His voice.

I started reading as a fan and hey. i was there in 1987 watch the Girls tour in Chatanooga. Guns N Roses were on the stage. My friends and iI were smoking weed saying " who is that guy on stage dancing like a chicken? They sound ok but we want Motley!"After hearing everything Nikki was going through at that time and how he came out of it is truley a inspration. The man will always rock!
