The Fallen Man

Don’t miss the TV series, Dark Winds, based on the Leaphorn, Chee, & Manuelito novels, now on AMC and AMC+!

Tony Hillerman opens the mystery on Ship Rock, where climbers find a skull on a high basalt ledge. The novel draws Acting Lieutenant Jim Chee into the case when Joe Leaphorn links the bones to a rancher missing for eleven years.

The Navajo Tribal Police face fresh danger after a sniper ambushes an elderly canyon guide who saw the missing rancher alive. Hillerman follows Leaphorn and Chee through missing cattle and a forged summit register to uncover the truth on the mountain.
