AMARYLIS ZAYAS is a science communicator and physicist with a passion for making the strangest frontiers of theoretical physics accessible to general readers. She holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Cambridge, where her research focused on quantum gravity, black hole thermodynamics, and the foundations of spacetime. After a postdoctoral fellowship at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, she transitioned into full-time science writing and public speaking.
Her work has appeared in *Scientific American* and *New Scientist*, and she is the creator of the popular online series “The Paradox Diaries,” which explores time travel, quantum mechanics, and cosmology through animated explanations. She has given TEDx talks on the nature of time and has been a guest on multiple science podcasts. *Time Travel Paradoxes Explained Simply* is her second book, following *Quantum Weirdness: A No-Math Tour*, which was praised for its clarity and humor.
Zayas lives in Montreal, Canada, where she enjoys hiking in the Laurentians, reading classic science fiction, and debating the finer points of the bootstrap paradox with her cat, Schrödinger. She is currently working on a third book about the arrow of time and entropy. You can find her online at amaryliszayas.com or on Twitter @azayas_physics.
