About this ebook
Independent rancher Rafe Maitland had never met his wealthy relatives—and planned to keep it that way.
But when matriarch Megan Maitland's lovely personal assistant arrived on his doorstep, determined to ensure his presence at the family reunion, Rafe showed he could be as demanding and crafty as any other Maitland. Because the price for his company was a marriage of convenience—and all to keep custody of the little girl he'd inherited…
Ever since a tragic car accident took his best friends, the Nevada ranch foreman had been caring for one-year-old Bethany as his own.
Faced with a custody battle against callous relatives, the protective bachelor was ready to take any gamble to keep his little girl.
Greer Lawford proved every bit as determined as the rugged cowboy she had arrived to recruit. With a poker-won diamond on her finger, the practical assistant joins him in Texas, playing the part of his adoring fiancée before a mansion full of Maitlands.

- Found Family: Arriving in Texas, Rafe is stunned to discover he has a half-brother named R.J. and a half-sister named Anna, long-lost siblings taken in by his aunt years before.
- Heroine Makeover: Before a high-stakes clinic fund-raiser, Anna whisks Greer to an upscale Austin salon, swapping her tailored suits for a show-stopping royal blue gown.
- Opposites Attract: Between impromptu pony rides for baby Bethany and a slow dance in the Maitland ballroom, a guarded ranch foreman and an unpretentious assistant discover an unexpected spark.
