ELLERY QUEEN is the joint pseudonym of American cousins Frederic Dannay (Daniel Nathan) and Manfred B. Lee (Emanuel Lepofsky), who revolutionized detective fiction from 1929 to 1971. Their novels feature Ellery Queen, a brilliant amateur sleuth, and his father, Inspector Richard Queen. Renowned for intricate plots and fair-play puzzles, the duo also edited the influential Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, helping to elevate and popularize the mystery short story. Their work inspired adaptations across radio, television, and film, and earned them the Mystery Writers of America Grand Master Award in 1961.
