TCI Simulator is an open-source educational and research application for exploring and comparing Target-Controlled Infusion (TCI) models and their pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic characteristics.
The app provides interactive visualizations of pharmacokinetic compartments and predicted drug concentrations over time. It is designed to help students, clinicians, researchers, and other interested users explore how different TCI models behave and how model parameters influence simulated drug concentrations.
TCI Simulator was developed by Dr. Raphael Porsche, Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care, Medical Center – University of Freiburg.
Currently implemented features:
- Schnider and Eleveld TCI models for propofol
- Simulation of the course of anesthesia with interactive visualization of predicted drug concentrations in different pharmacokinetic compartments
- Comparison of multiple simulations
- Comparison of TCI parameters between simulations
Important notice
TCI Simulator is intended exclusively for education and research. It is not a certified medical device and must not be used for clinical care, drug dosing, or clinical decision-making.
TCI Simulator is free and open-source software released under the GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL).
